Help with Obesity and Weight Loss. Anyone who finds themselves in that slightly depressing situation where they are transitioning from being overweight towards becoming obese should sit up and take notice. It’s certainly not a move up the ladder of life that you wish to be taking. So, what is the difference between being overweight and being obese? In all honesty, the difference on the scales is only a pound, just one little pound. You may find it interesting to visit our Fat Loss Specialist page.
Basically, if your BMI is under 29, then you are overweight. If it goes above 30, then you are clinically obese. When someone tells you that you are obese, it can, maybe understandably, be more than a little depressing. Obese and obesity are both medical terms that you do not want to be used to describe yourself. Of course, obesity often also arrives with its friends, which are Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease, along with aching joints that will eventually need replacing. Obesity Treatment Programmes are something to investigate. Help With Obesity and Weight Loss.
Can you imagine yourself at an ‘obese person only’ meeting? It’s like an obesity management club, introducing yourself: “Hi! My name’s Martin. I am obese. Hi Martin. My name’s Sally. I am obese, too.” Regular attendees receive discount vouchers for healthy food shops. Or maybe invitations to a particular XXX size clothes store. The store opens exclusively for the obese once a week, usually in the evenings. So, you can browse around and try on whatever you want without any of the usual embarrassment. The club will also offer Obesity Treatment Programmes. Okay, the club does not exist yet, but it may be coming. You may like to visit the Losing Weight When Obese Page on the site.
But being serious, the main factor is that the obese person’s mortality (risk of death) increases as they transition from being overweight. So, having an understanding of obesity treatment programmes is very important. Although I have worked in the weight loss arena for many years, I still find certain things surprising. For example, an obese person knows about all of the potential adverse health effects and risks related to their previous actions. And yet, somehow, they still give in every time they are offered a burger and fries or a Chicken Korma. You may find it interesting to visit the Weight Loss Experts page. I remember talking to an obese client about drugs, Cocaine in particular; she had previously told me her weakness was McDonald’s Burgers. “So Linda, let me ask you, have you ever tried Cocaine?” she quickly responded, “never, it’s dangerous”. She was correct; of course, it is dangerous, but if you think about it in context. In the UK, every year, over a million people are urgently admitted to hospitals with obesity-related conditions. The published NHS figures for admission to hospital for Cocaine related issues is just 7,300. You may also like to read our blog post: “How to Lose Weight Fast.”
In addition to the health risks of being obese, there is a cluster of issues that you also need to consider. Surprisingly, for many, such issues rank even higher than their health risks. These include, for example, a reduced level of self-esteem and a poor, negative self-image. Obesity often introduces problems to relationships and increased levels of lethargy. At our clinic, we have interviewed over a thousand obese clients and heard an amazing range of issues of just why they no longer wish to be obese. And also, just like Type 2 Diabetes, you can reverse obesity. There are Obesity and Weight Management Interventions. You may be interested in our dedicated page, Celebrity Weight Loss Secrets.
We have spent close to fifteen years perfecting our non-surgical weight loss treatment. It is firmly based on proven psychology, focusing on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, the most scientifically researched therapy in the world. Marion and I have accumulated over fifteen thousand one-to-one treatment hours, working exclusively with people wishing to lose weight. Our treatment, endorsed by medical professionals, is available as an utterly downloadable course. No Meetings, No Gyms, No Diet Food. Visit the review of online Weight Loss Programmes.
Our non-surgical weight loss treatment has received global acclaim, being featured on TV on both sides of the Atlantic. Our youngest client was just 14, our oldest was 86. Some clients wanted to lose just 8 pounds to fit into their wedding dress. Others, like Sarah Hart, photo above, lost over 140 pounds. You can read the verified case studies on the website and view the before and after photographs. Hundreds of Newspapers and Magazines around the world have featured the treatment. If you have any questions, please contact us here.
We believe that one of the reasons our programme has proven so popular is that clients can complete the course at home on any device they wish: smartphone, tablet or desktop computer. So, there are no meetings to attend and no sometimes embarrassing communal weigh-ins. Our weight loss solution is non-surgical and does not involve exercise. The treatment profile is based on psychology; it is results-focused, providing each client with an optimised weight loss experience. We can also help people with physical disabilities, as you can read on our blog post “Best Way for Wheelchair Users to Lose Weight”.
So, just what do we do? A Psychological Reset. You see, it’s a fact that no child is born obese; eating for reasons other than hunger is a learned behaviour. We will ask you: Do you eat when you are Sad, Upset, Lonely, Angry, Depressed, Tired, Anxious, in Secret, when you are watching TV, or maybe to please someone else? Then, we reset it. After the treatment, you will eat when you are physically hungry and stop when you are not. Ruby, in the photo above, has lost over 40 pounds so far. Read about the role of Metformin in Weight Loss.
Following 15 years of providing our clinic-based treatment, Marion and I have spent the last twelve months developing and trialling our downloadable weight loss treatment. There are many Obesity Treatment Programs available, but the one we have developed is based on the treatment we have been providing to our clients attending the clinic. My Weigh Less was born from the understanding that we needed to offer a product that was affordable to everybody and could be made instantly available on a global basis. The treatment is entirely psychology-focused and the result of hundreds of hours of person trials. If you find yourself thinking about weight loss surgery, take a look at this page first… Gastric Band, Sleeve or Bypass.
It is the most important question of all. On the website, we have a dedicated Does It Work page, which we hope you will find both exciting and informative; also, visit the Welcome To My Weigh Less page. Additionally, you will find a link to the ‘Medical Professionals’ pages, which includes an endorsement of the effectiveness of the treatment by an NHS Consultant Surgeon, along with the opinions and observations of a number of other medical professionals. Also,, on the site, you can read a full breakdown of just what is included in the treatment. We also have a dedicated page for members of the Police Force wishing to lose weight. Our Top FAQs
Answer: The distinction between being overweight and clinically obese is primarily based on Body Mass Index (BMI). A BMI under 29 indicates being overweight, and this extra weight may not pose severe health risks in most cases. However, when the BMI surpasses 30, it falls into the category of clinical obesity. Clinical obesity carries significant health risks, such as cardiovascular diseases, Type 2 Diabetes, sleep apnea, and more. It’s essential to monitor and manage your BMI to prevent transitioning from overweight to obese.
Answer: Obesity is not merely a cosmetic concern; it’s a complex medical condition with potentially severe health consequences. Obesity increases the risk of various medical issues, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. It can also significantly impact your overall quality of life. Given these risks, addressing obesity is crucial for long-term well-being. Obesity treatment programs offer a structured approach that combines medical guidance, dietary modifications, physical activity, and psychological support to help individuals lose weight and improve their health. By engaging in such programs, individuals can reduce their risk of obesity-related complications and enjoy a healthier, more active life.
Answer: Obesity often leads to a range of psychosocial challenges beyond physical health concerns. People struggling with obesity may experience reduced self-esteem and a negative self-image. This can lead to feelings of shame, depression, and anxiety, which further hinder their weight loss efforts. Obesity can also strain personal relationships, as individuals might experience social stigma or discomfort due to their appearance. Increased lethargy is another common consequence, impacting overall energy levels and hindering physical activity. Addressing these psychosocial challenges is a vital aspect of comprehensive obesity treatment programs. Help With Obesity and Weight Loss.
Answer: Yes, obesity can be reversed, and obesity treatment programs play a crucial role in this process. Obesity is a complex condition influenced by a variety of factors, including genetics, environment, and behaviours. Obesity and Weight Management Interventions address these factors comprehensively. These programs are designed to help individuals achieve and maintain a healthier weight by promoting lasting changes in their lifestyle, including diet and exercise. They offer a holistic approach that combines dietary guidance, behaviour modification, and psychological support to help individuals not only lose weight but also sustain their progress over time. Successful obesity management often involves long-term, sustainable lifestyle changes.
Answer: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of effective weight loss treatment for several reasons. CBT focuses on identifying and modifying thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to overeating or unhealthy eating habits. It helps individuals develop a healthier relationship with food and address emotional triggers that lead to overconsumption. CBT assists in changing ingrained behaviours, such as emotional eating, mindless eating, or impulsive snacking. By understanding and reshaping these behaviours, individuals can achieve lasting weight loss and adopt healthier eating habits. CBT is a valuable component of many obesity treatment programs as it equips individuals with the tools to maintain their weight loss results over time.
Answer: My Weigh Less is a non-surgical weight loss treatment that stands out for its psychology-focused approach. Developed by Marion and Martin Shirran, it is based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), one of the most scientifically researched therapies globally. This treatment approach is both unique and successful, with a proven track record in helping individuals achieve lasting weight loss. What sets My Weigh Less apart is its convenience and accessibility—it is available as a downloadable course, meaning it can be accessed on any device from the comfort of one’s home. Answer: My Weigh Less distinguishes itself from other weight loss solutions through its exclusive psychology-focused approach, ease of access, and demonstrated results. Clients can complete the treatment at their convenience without the need for in-person meetings or sometimes embarrassing communal weigh-ins. Unlike programs centred on intense exercise, My Weigh Less focuses on the psychological aspects of eating behaviour. This unique approach has been recognized for its effectiveness in achieving and maintaining weight loss. My Weigh Less is an ideal option for individuals seeking a non-surgical, psychology-based, and results-focused weight loss solution. Help With Obesity and Weight Loss.
Answer: The psychological reset in My Weigh Less involves identifying and addressing emotional triggers and behaviours related to eating. It starts by understanding why you eat—for example, in response to sadness, stress, or boredom—and helping individuals reset these patterns. The treatment equips clients to differentiate between eating when physically hungry and eating for other reasons. It promotes mindful, intuitive eating, where individuals eat when their body signals hunger and stop when they are satisfied. By resetting these eating behaviours, individuals can establish a healthier relationship with food and achieve lasting weight loss.

Our psychology-focused weight loss programme provides a ‘Psychological Reset’ for those wishing to lose weight. The programme incorporates an updated version of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, TCBT, which is the subject of our bestselling book, published globally by Hay House. Professor Windy Dryden of Goldsmiths University in London endorsed the book, and Professor Philip Zimbardo of Stanford University in the USA wrote the foreword. We also incorporate the latest developments around Neuroplasticity and Neuro-Linguistic Programming along with many other disciplines. One component of our psychology-focused weight loss programme provides a ‘Psychological Reset’. At this statement, ‘Psychological Reset,’ we have observed many people raising their eyebrows; see below. Help With Obesity and Weight Loss.
Let me give you a couple of examples: the programme will allow you to make a number of simple cognitive changes in your thought processes…small changes that deliver ‘massive results’. For example, think for a moment how different your relationship with food and weight loss would be if we re-programmed your subconscious mind to effortlessly replace the word “want” with the word “need”? The result, imagine you are out having dinner with friends, and after ordering a burger, instead of hearing the waiter asking: “Do you ‘want’ fries with that?” without thinking, you hear and automatically process the question as: “Do you ‘need’ fries with that?” Things would be very different, right? You see, at a cognitive level, we process those words differently. Later, maybe the waiter says, do you ‘want’ another glass of wine? You, of course, hear and cognitively process the word stream as do you ‘need’ another glass of wine. You can watch an animated video explaining ‘Want and Need’ and how it works at the bottom of this page.
Another ‘fix’ in the programme relates to just why people eat. So, during the programme, you will be asked when was the last time you ate in response to actual, physical hunger. Most people say: “Thinking about it, I haven’t been physically hungry for years”. And so we ask them: “Do you ever eat when you are bored, stressed, tired, lonely, depressed, sad, to reward yourself, when watching TV, or maybe just to please someone else?” Then, we do another reset, and so it goes on…
