I am confident it is one of traits adopted, maybe unknowingly, by those almost ‘God-like’ people, who stay naturally thin, regardless of what goes in their mouths. So, what’s it like living a life in a permanent Yes phase? Well, it’s like this, “Martin, do you want to come out tonight? Do you want a pizza? Do you fancy a glass of wine? , in fact I’ll have two! Martin, how about going away for a weekend? It was always . Because was my default switch. It never needed any thinking about, it was automatic, it was painless, it was easy, just say to everything. Martin was always up for fun, and pleasing other people.

It is harder than it sounds, but you can do it. that is also a positive, as once you have re-positioned it, it takes a lot of effort to flip it back again. But be careful, you may become someone your friends describe as boring, always saying no. However, if that it takes, even temporarily, for you to achieve your target weight, then maybe, just maybe, that’s OK. Most French women seem to be able to control their weight, almost effortlessly. They often do what is best for them: ‘will saying yes, take me closer to my goal, or move me further away?’.

Before, if I had decided to have a few nights in and catch up on my sleep, and just chill, I would often find myself just giving in, as soon as someone invited us out. If anyone asked me to take on some extra work, I used to say Yes! Whereas now I think about the consequences, and make a more considered decision.
. So, make sure you commit to changing the default to where you want it to be. Try it; like I say, it takes more effort than you may think, but the results come very quickly. Once you have mastered it the whole thing becomes effortless. Give yourself seven days, you may be surprised. It will certainly allow you to take decisions that benefit you, and take you on the route you want to follow, rather than always pleasing others.
