Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution
#1. Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution.
Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution. In 2009, a two-page article by Claudia Connell appeared in the Daily Mail Newspaper. At that time, we were the first people in the world to provide a credible, non-surgical, weight-loss intervention. We created it after becoming aware that there were no viable alternative options to weight-loss surgery, and in particular, the Surgical Gastric Band.
Following the publication in the Daily Mail, we flew to New York to appear on the Good Morning America TV Show. And that was just the beginning! Our non-surgical approach, which we called the Gastric Mind Band, is 100% psychology-focused. It is widely accepted that obesity is predominantly a psychological issue, so we believe that is the best way to treat it.
Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution
We know, like many others, that overweight people will often eat when they are sad, lonely, bored, depressed, tired, angry, or maybe just to please someone else. These issues can never be successfully treated and rectified by any surgical or physical intervention alone. For more than fifteen years, we have carried out permanent ongoing research and development of our treatment. As a result, it continues be at the forefront of the non-surgical, weight-loss sector. Indeed we have now registered over 15,000 clinical hours experience delivering the treatment. Our approach is also the subject of the two bestselling books, published globally by Hay House.
Surgery-Free Weight loss
In our opinion, the division between surgical and non-surgical interventions is becoming an ever-growing grey area. When you put ‘Non-Surgical Weight Loss’ into Google, you will see a number of maybe unexpected results offered to you. Read on and we’ll share with you just a few examples of the many different weight-loss procedures that are available nowadays…
Fluid-Filled Gastric Balloon: Surgery-Free Weight loss
As an example, one of the first results is for the Orbera Gastric Balloon, which is filled with fluid. This is described as a non-surgical, weight-loss intervention. Basically, a fluid-filled bag is placed in the patient’s stomach, via the throat, to reduce their capacity for food. Patients are warned that following the procedure they must adhere to a number of lifestyle changes. Potential risks include gastric ulcers, perforation and deflation, or complications with the balloon. From DFW Bariatric Surgery
Gas-Filled Balloon
A slightly different approach is the Obalon. This is a gas-filled balloon that you swallow. The Obalon Balloon takes up space in the stomach, leaving just a small capacity for food, and thus resulting in weight loss. It appears to be successful, with low risks. The trials indicate that 89 per cent of people manage to keep the lost weight at bay for 26 weeks! From DFW Bariatric Surgery
Gastric Sleeve
A third option is the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty. Apparently surgeons use an endoscopic suturing device to create a sleeve inside the stomach and reduce the size of it. It is a relatively new procedure and is performed on patients under the influence of general anaesthesia. Statistics reveal that patients lose more 15-20% of their original body weight within the first year, which is maybe not considered as a favourable result.
Surgery-Free Weight loss
Other options include Ultrasound Cavitation, Cryolipolysis (fat freezing), and 3D Shockwave Cellulite Removal. These fat and weight-loss procedures are performed in about 45 minutes, and are classed as non-invasive, so no anaesthetic is required.
Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution
In our opinion, one of the more bizarre interventions is the “AspireAssist”, manufactured by Aspire Bariatrics. This is possibly one of the most controversial weight-loss procedures. It has been referred to as a bulimia machine, because it mimics binge and purge behaviour. The device is fitted in a 15-minute, outpatient procedure. It is also classed as a non-surgical weight-loss treatment, because it is performed under “twilight anaesthetic”, also known as “conscious sedation”, or “monitored anaesthesia care”.
During this non-surgical weight-loss procedure, the surgeon uses an endoscope to insert a tube into the patient’s stomach. The tube is connected to an external port attached to the skin. Around 20-30 minutes after eating, the person has to find a toilet, connect the device to the port and turn on the valve, which starts the “aspiration” process. Ten minutes later, around 30% of the contents of the stomach will have been sucked out, which is how the weight loss is achieved. It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? We are sure you agree!
Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution: Conclusion
In the dynamic landscape of weight-loss solutions, the ‘My Weigh Less’ (MWL) programme emerges as a pioneer in non-surgical interventions. Over a decade ago, the Gastric Mind Band, a 100% psychology-focused approach, was introduced as a groundbreaking alternative to surgical procedures like the Gastric Band. Recognising obesity as primarily a psychological challenge, MWL strives to address the root causes through a comprehensive non-invasive methodology.
In contrast, a multitude of interventions claim to be non-surgical, blurring the lines between effective, safe alternatives and questionable methods. From fluid-filled gastric balloons to gas-filled options, the spectrum includes diverse approaches with varying success rates and potential risks. The article sheds light on the innovative, albeit controversial, “AspireAssist,” highlighting the evolving nature of non-surgical interventions.
In this realm of choices, MWL stands out, emphasising the significance of psychological aspects in long-term weight management. With over 15,000 clinical hours and continuous refinement, MWL is not just a downloadable treatment but a comprehensive, personalised programme dedicated to fostering lasting lifestyle changes. In the quest for weight loss, MWL remains at the forefront, navigating the intricate intersection between psychology and sustainable well-being.
Our Top FAQs: Non-Surgical Weight-Loss Solution
Answer: Yes, while these interventions claim to be non-surgical, they carry potential risks. For example, fluid-filled gastric balloons may pose risks like gastric ulcers or perforation. It’s essential to carefully consider the potential drawbacks and benefits of each option.
Answer: The “AspireAssist” is a non-surgical weight-loss procedure involving the insertion of a tube into the stomach, allowing users to aspirate a portion of their meal contents after eating. Its controversy stems from comparisons to binge and purge behaviour, raising ethical concerns around its usage. Critics have referred to the procedure as a kind of “mechanical bulimia”.
Answer: Non-surgical interventions can be effective, depending on the individual and the chosen method. While surgical options may offer quicker results, non-surgical approaches often focus on long-term behavioural changes, making them a viable and sustainable alternative for many.
Answer: Surgical procedures typically involve physical alterations, such as gastric banding or sleeve gastrectomy, resulting in rapid weight loss. Non-surgical approaches, like the Gastric Mind Band, or My Weigh Less course, rely on psychological interventions, fostering gradual, sustainable changes in behaviour and lifestyle.
Answer: Surgical weight-loss procedures carry inherent risks, including infection, bleeding, or adverse reactions to anaesthesia. Long-term complications may involve nutritional deficiencies or the need for further surgical interventions.
Answer: Non-surgical interventions generally pose fewer immediate risks than surgical procedures. However, it’s crucial to assess individual health conditions and potential psychological implications. Risks associated with non-surgical methods may include inadequate weight loss or the need for ongoing psychological support.
Answer: Surgical interventions primarily focus on physical changes, though many programmes incorporate psychological support. Non-surgical approaches, like the Gastric Mind Band, or My Weigh Less course, prioritise addressing the psychological roots of obesity, potentially providing a more comprehensive and lasting solution.
Answer: The ‘My Weigh Less’ programme distinguishes itself by being a 100% psychology-focused approach, recognising obesity as primarily a psychological challenge. With over 15,000 clinical hours and continuous refinement spanning fifteen years, it’s a comprehensive, personalised programme dedicated to fostering lasting lifestyle changes.
Unlike surgical procedures, it doesn’t involve any physical alteration but relies on altering thought patterns and behaviours related to food, providing individuals with the tools to make permanent lifestyle changes regarding their weight and relationship with food. By addressing psychological factors, MWL aims for sustainable weight management.
The ‘My Weigh Less’ programme is designed to be inclusive and adaptable. While individual results may vary, the programme is tailored to address the diverse needs of individuals, making it suitable for a wide range of people, regardless of their level of obesity.

We also incorporate the latest developments around Neuroplasticity and Neuro-Linguistic Programming along with many other disciplines. One component of our psychology-focused weight-loss programme provides a ‘Psychological Reset’.
Just think for a moment how different your relationship with food and weight loss would be if we re-programmed your subconscious mind to effortlessly replace the word “want” with the word “need”? The result: imagine you are out having dinner with friends ordering a burger. Instead of hearing the waiter asking: “Do you ‘want’ fries with that?” without thinking, you hear and automatically process the question as: “Do you ‘need’ fries with that?” Things would be very different, right? You see, at a cognitive level, we process those words differently. Later, maybe the waiter says, do you ‘want’ another glass of wine? You, of course, hear and cognitively process the word stream as do you ‘need’ another glass of wine. You can watch an animated video explaining ‘Want and Need’ and how it works at the bottom of this page.
Another ‘fix’ in the programme relates to just why people eat. So, during the programme, you will be asked when was the last time you ate in response to actual, physical hunger. Most people say: “Thinking about it, I haven’t been physically hungry for years”. And so we ask them: “Do you ever eat when you are bored, stressed, tired, lonely, depressed, sad, to reward yourself, when watching TV, or maybe just to please someone else?” Then, we do another reset, and so it goes on…
